Ask the Curator is a weekly presentation, covering topics from Mina Edison to Ford cars. Upcoming programs include:
July 17: Who was Theodore Edison? Come join Collections Registrar, Matt Andres, as he recognizes the person known as the “little laboratory assistant.”
July 24: Can you tell me more about Edison’s rubber project? Join Collections Registrar, Matt Andres, as he provides an in-depth tour of Edison’s Botanical Laboratory.
July 31: Celebrating Ford’s Birthday. Chief Curator, Brent Newman, details the life and times of automotive industrialist Henry Ford.
August 7: How much do know about cypress knees? Please join Exhibit Coordinator Megan Kissinger, as she highlights one of the more interesting pieces in the Edison family natural history collection.
August 14: Tell me more about Ford’s “Chuckwagon.” Join Automotive Curator James Moss, as he provides detailed information on one of museum’s most interesting vehicles.
August 21: “Bee there or Bee Square!” Please join Chief Horticulturalist Debbie Hughes, as she shares her knowledge of honey bees and other key pollinators at the Edison Ford Estates. (August 17 is National Honey Bee Day.)
August 28: Tell me more about Edison’s car. Join Automotive Curator James Moss, for a discussion on one of the most popular vehicles in our collection. This program will include a demonstration on starting the antique vehicle.
