Some of the initial projects that Nathanson will be working on include building up an ever-increasing collection of rare exotic palms, re-nourishing the soil in areas of the gardens that were impacted by salt water from Hurricane Ian, and planting additional flowers around the site to create more of a visual impact for visitors.
Nathanson’s unique experience includes starting and operating his own wholesale nursery, and utilizing advanced propagation techniques and United States Department of Agriculture seed permits for breeding efforts. He is also skilled in leading post-disaster recovery efforts, designing and building high-capacity irrigation systems, designing and installing landscapes and hardscapes, and supervising teams.
“After a long search, we have found someone who has the education and skill set that we have been looking for,” said Mike Flanders, President and CEO of the Estates. “Marshall brings a lot of horticulture experience, a vision for the future, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude to the entire Estates.”
