Always our most popular class, especially for all gardeners new to Florida or those new to gardening. This program introduces the challenges of growing in our unique USDA Zone, the struggle with our soils and the value of Florida native plants in your garden. We will introduce concepts for creating your own tropical moonlight garden, Florida butterfly gardening, and an overview of palms. A tour of the Estates’ Palmetum follows the classroom presentation.
Bring water, walking shoes and sun protection. Held in the comfortable air-conditioned Garden Council classroom just off the Larchmont Ave. parking lot. Look for the red “Torry Gate.” Advance Registration is required (registration opens October 1 and closes January 15).
