School Break Camps Offered at Edison and Ford Winter Estates
FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 19, 2025) – Edison and Ford Winter Estates offers many programs for children throughout the year, including day camps when Lee County schools are closed. Camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Camps are for students currently in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Mechanical Makers & Builders

September 23, 2025
Campers will explore simple machines as they learn about mechanical advantage. Each activity highlights the power of one simple machine. For example, the catapult challenge focuses on using the mighty lever. Cost: $45 for Edison Ford members; $50 for non-members.
The Spooky Science of Chemistry
October 13, 2025
In this camp, students become mad scientists as they learn how to make lava lamps, glowing slime, and more. This spooky camp leverages lessons of chemistry to enhance holiday fun. Cost: $45 for Edison Ford members; $50 for non-members.
Robotics Crash Course
November 24-26, 2025
Campers learn about robotics and code as they tackle daily robotics challenges. Members of the Edison Ford robotics teams will be present to demonstrate their competition robots and assist campers on their STEAM journey. Cost: $135 for Edison Ford members; $150 for non-members.
Space, Rockets, & the Science of Flight
December 22-23, 2025
Students will learn about the physics of rockets as they explore Newtons Laws of Motion and the solar system. A scale model of the planets will be created, using the entire length of the Estates. As campers are learning about the universe, they will also be designing their own water rocket to be launched on the last day of camp. Cost: $90 for Edison Ford members; $100 for non-members.
Rollercoaster Engineering
December 29-31, 2025
In this camp, students will explore energy and Newton’s Laws of Motion through the design of roller coasters. They will design marble rollercoasters with marbles of various volume and mass to learn about kinetic and potential energy. The camp finishes with LEGO coaster as they design cars that roll on a track. Cost: $135 for Edison Ford members; $150 for non-members.
Camps take place in the “living laboratory” of the Estates, and focus on S.T.E.A.M. (science technology, engineering, art, and math). No experience is needed. Campers should bring their own lunch and snacks. Registration is required. To register, visit the website at EdisonFord.org.
