From a simple ceremony to an elegant reception, the Edison & Ford Winter Estates is the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding. With historic homes, romantic gardens, and spectacular river views, the Edison Ford has something to offer every bride.
What's Included?
Ceremony & Reception Packages include a wedding ceremony, one-hour wedding rehearsal, the opportunity to take photographs throughout the property, complimentary passes for an educational experience at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates for your guests, an events staff member to coordinate and supervise your ceremony, as well as necessary support staff.
Catering and rental equipment such as chairs, tables, tents, etc., are not included and must be obtained through an approved vendor on our list.
Daytime Ceremonies, 9AM - 2PM (2 hours)
Evening Ceremonies, 4PM - 8PM (2 hours)
Evening Receptions, 4PM - 10PM

Wedding Ceremony & Reception Locations
Mina’s Moonlight Garden
Mina’s Moonlight Garden provides an intimate, romantic setting filled with fragrant flowers and tall, bougainvillea-entwined trellises perfect for photo opportunities and small wedding ceremonies.
Edison's Coconut Grove
The Coconut Grove is the beautiful lawn situated between the Lily Pond and the Caloosahatchee River. Dozens of coconut palm trees are scattered throughout this tropical lawn. The Coconut Grove is available for daytime and sunset weddings ceremonies.
The Caretaker's House
The Caretaker’s House is one of the oldest buildings in Fort Myers, and the oldest structure at the Edison Ford and sits adjacent to the Edison Swimming Pool and Tea House on the Edison estate. The newly restored house provides a quaint indoor space with porches and grassy lawns appropriate for small wedding receptions, bridal & baby showers and luncheons.
Ford’s Riverside Lawn
The Caloosahatchee River is a sight to see at sunset. Events extending into the evening are filled with magic and romance as the breathtaking colors are painted across the sky and reflected on the water. The spacious Riverside Lawn is available for wedding ceremonies and tented receptions of all sizes.
Royal Palm Alleé
Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the Ford property is the path from the craftsman-style bungalow through the Royal Palm Alleé down to the river. The perfect wedding aisle features royal palms towering up to 75 feet high with an incredible “arch” of bamboo that frames the view of the Caloosahatchee River.
Mysore Fig Tree
The majestic Mysore Fig Tree on the Ford estate has become a favorite backdrop for wedding ceremonies. With its sprawling roots and incredible breadth, the Mysore Fig Tree is the ultimate symbol of family and strength.
Plant A Celebration Tree
Planting a Celebration Tree at the Edison Ford is a great way to mark your moment in history! Donor names will appear in the annual report and on the tree’s description plaque.
Bridal & Engagement Photo Sessions
For couples looking for a unique backdrop for engagement photos or for those getting married elsewhere, the Edison Ford Photography Package (2 hours) offers the opportunity to have photographs taken throughout the beautiful grounds. Couples will be privileged access to several restricted locations during their photo session, including the Moonlight Garden, the Banyan Tree and other “behind-the-ropes” sites. The Edison Ford does not provide the photographer, but is happy to recommend a preferred vendor.
Bridal Showers
The Caretaker’s House is a choice location for parties of 30 or fewer. The historic building can be rented for a half day ($250) or a full day ($500).
