Emerging Inventors Early Learning Classes

Designed for children and their parents or other adult caretakers, Emerging Inventors programs include story and music time, socializing with others, educational activities, science experiments, and exploration of the homes, gardens, and museum. Bringing snacks or lunch is encouraged! Ages 1-5.

  • BUGS & BUTTERFLIES - September 21, 2017 - 9:30am-11:00am: Experience the beauty of our butterfly garden and become bug detectives; learn what makes a spider a spider and how to tell a butterfly from a moth. 
  • HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT - October 19, 2017 - 9:30am-11:00am: Dress up in costume, enjoy a festive trick or treat walk, and delight in a spooky science show!
  • SOLAR ENERGY - November 16, 2017 - 9:30am-11:00am: Experience the power of the suna nd explore how solar energy is able to power a museum, create art, and cook a special treat.
  • HOLIDAY FUN - December 21, 2017 - 9:30am-11:00am: Emerging Inventors become Santa's elves, experiencing th emagic of the season making presents, holiday ornaments, and more!
  • PHONOGRAPH MUSIC FUN - January 18, 2018 - 9:30am-11:00am - Explore the world of music by learning notes through song, crafting simple instruments, and studying historic phonographs.
  • ENGINEERING WITH LEGOS - Feburary 15, 2018 - 9:30am-11:00am: Learn to build and engineer iwth LEGOS, creating animals, rockets, trains and more!
  • ART WITH NATURE - March 15, 2018 - 9:30am-11:00am: Express your artistic nature through crafts inspired by nature, such as painting a coconut, fish printing, and more!
  • EDISON CHEMISTRY - April 19, 2018 - 9:30am-11:00am: Learn about mixtures and solutions, experimenting with slime, polymers and colorful "exploding milk."

Cost: Members $10 per class (one adult and one child) or 8-class series: $70, non-members: $15 per class (one adult and one child) or 8-class series: $105. Each additional child: $5 per class.
