Orchid Symposium and Grow Fort Myers Event at Edison and Ford Winter Estates
FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 26, 2026) — On April 11 and 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Edison and Ford Winter Estates will hold it’s annual Orchid

Symposium and Grow Fort Myers event. This community-oriented program provides an opportunity for gardeners to learn how to grow and care for orchids during a series of free workshops. Vendors will also have orchids available for sale. The event is sponsored by the Southwest Florida Orchid Society.
The workshops will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days and will take place under a tent in the research gardens. Some topics that will be covered include Cattleya Culture, Phalaenopsis Culture, Choosing the Correct Light, Introduction to Brazilian and Venezuelan Orchids, Designing with Orchids, and Tips for Watercolor Painting of Orchids.
Participating vendors and guest speakers include Aaron Apsley, Aunt Jenny’s Garden, Bello Tropicals, Blue Pagoda, Florida Orchid House, Jim-N-I Orchids, Alexandra Kravchenko Orchids, Red Hawk Nursery, So Orchids, Southwest Florida Orchid Society, Sunland Orchids and more. The Garden Shoppe will also be open and stocked with exotics, Florida natives, butterfly plants and edibles.
Seating for the free workshops is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission to the museum, lab, or riverside of the property requires an admission ticket. For guests looking to purchase plants, bringing a garden cart is recommended, as only a limited number will be available.
