Orchids are very popular in Florida because many species and hybrids can thrive in our Subtropical climate. Thomas and Mina Edison grew orchids in the Mango trees and we have been busy re-establishing them into the newly planted trees. If you have an interest in growing orchids, come to the next Garden Talk. Guest speaker and Southwest Florida Orchid Society President, John Hampton, will talk about what to do and what not to do when growing orchids. Hands-on demonstrations and a walk around the site to view different orchid varieties will be included.
Wear comfortable shoes, a hat, and sunscreen and bring drinking water. Orchids and supplies will be available for sale. All participants will receive a 20% off coupon for use in the Garden Shoppe. Fee: Edison Ford Members: $10; non-members: $15
