Creating a Waxed Amaryllis for the Holidays
With the holidays approaching quickly, it’s time to get waxing! That’s right, waxing a live amaryllis bulb — one day only, we will teach the art of waxing and decorating a large amaryllis bulb. Your creation will be a fully self-contained floral conversation piece which can be exhibited or gifted. During the waxing process, we will provide a large selection of decors to add to your wax – ribbon, glitter, moss and more.
When finished, your artful flora will continue to grow, and throw large, colorful flower spikes. No watering or feeding necessary! Instruction will include preserving the bulb for years to come. Our Garden Shoppe has procured premium large Dutch grown bulbs especially for this class. We recommend bringing an apron to class. All materials are included. Light holiday refreshments will be offered. Class will be held at the Berne Davis/Southwest Florida Garden Council Building on Larchmont Avenue.
