Scout Programs

·         Scout programs are available to all Girl and Cub Scout groups and fulfill adventure requirements:

  •  THE MAGIC OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING • January 20, 2018 • 1pm-3pm: Scouts are challenged to unravel the secrets behind science. From floating boats, to science experiments, to magic tricks, the scouts will begin to understand the nature of science and the acquisition of knowledge. Adventure Requirements Addressed: Curiosity, Intrigue and Magical Mysteries and Floats and Boats. 
  • GOING UP • February 17, 2018 • 1pm-3pm: From the science of air pressure to the science of sound, Scouts will create unusual flying objects and see sound move. The class concludes with a botanical study on the rich grounds at Edison Ford. Adventure Requirements Addressed: Air of the Wolf and Grow Something. 
  • ELECTRICITY AND MOVING ROBOTS • March 17, 2018 • 1pm-3pm: Scouts will begin to understand the nature of electricity and its present and future applications in the exciting field of Robotics. Adventure Requirements Addressed: Paws for Action, Robotics, and Super Science. 
  • VIDEO GAME DESIGN • April 14, 2018 • 1pm-3pm: Scouts delve into the wide world of computer science as they begin to develop their own video game. Scouts are introduced to concepts such as: algorithms, functions, logical statements and variables as they create their interactive software. Adventure Requirements Addressed: Game Design.
