Edison & Ford Winter Estates Lights Historic Banyan for Holiday Nights Opening Night

FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 17, 2016) -- On November 25 at 6 p.m., the Holiday Nights opening night tree lighting ceremony at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates will showcase some new technology. This year, when the countdown hits one, the historic Banyan will be lit with laser lights to kick off the 41st annual Holiday Nights.

Thomas Edison, Santa Claus and local officials will officiate the ceremony and turn the Banyan into a huge lighted display with the flip of a switch. Visitors are invited to gather at the Banyan tree for live, holiday music and the annual countdown.

Named one of the nation’s top holiday events, this year Holiday Nights also includes a Waltzing Waters water fountain display.

Holiday Nights is open nightly through January 1, 2017 (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas night). General admission for adults is $20, teens (13-19) $10 and children (6-12) $2. Free for Edison Ford members. Guided tours are also available for an additional fee. Lee County residents will receive $5 off on select nights, including opening night.
