Edison Ford is Open and Prepared for Storms
FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 25, 2016) -- Edison & Ford Winter Estates will be open to the public throughout the week unless there is a dramatic change in the suggested storm paths.

Due to the historic nature of the property, the site has been prepared for possible storm conditions. Site historians will provide tours of the gardens, historic homes, Edison's Laboratory and museum as scheduled; however, some interior views of the homes may be closed to protect them from inclimate weather.

In the event of rain, Edison Ford will continue normal tour operations; however, visitors are advised to bring umbrellas or other rain gear. If there is lightning within a 10-mile radius or severe weather warnings, Edison Ford will close the river side of the property and suspend tours of the grounds. Guests may remain in the museum and lab until weather threats have passed.

Edison Ford is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; however, visitors are advised to call prior to arriving and speak with a staff person if weather conditions are not favorable. For more information about Edison Ford, call 239-334-7419 or visitwww.edisonfordwinterestates.org
