Edison & Ford Winter Estates Open Fourth of July

Fort Myers, FL (July 3, 2013)Thomas Edison claimed that the Fourth of July was his “favorite holiday.”  He would devote the entire day to his children, waking up early to set off fireworks and enjoy ice cream and watermelon.  Celebrate the Fourth at Edison & Ford Winter Estates from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with an audio or site historian tour, demonstrations on Edison’s “favorite invention,” the phonograph and much more.
After the tour celebrate the day with lunch under the Banyan Tree catered by Everglades BBQ.  Picnic lunch items include pulled pork, nachos, red white and blue parfait, beer, and wine (prices vary).   Reservations not required. 

The Edison Ford is open daily from 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. The Edison Ford is the winner of the 2009 National Stewardship Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is an official project of “Save America’s Treasures” at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a Florida Historic Landmark and a National Register Historic Site.
