Museum Musings is an ongoing biweekly program that takes place on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and provides in-depth information on a specific topic pertaining to our site. Masks are required.
May 12: Henry Ford’s Winter Estate was called “The Mangoes”, named after the row of Mango trees that lined the pathway leading up to his home. In this talk, Curatorial Assistant, Tayelor Kakes will discuss the history of Mangoes and the different varieties that you can find throughout the property.
May 26: In 1910, Edison displayed a scale model of his poured concrete house at the Real Estate and Ideal Homes Exhibition at Madison Square Garden. In honor of his achievement, Chief Curator, Brent Newman will discuss Edison’s work with concrete.
