Thomas Edison’s 176th Birthday Celebration
Come celebrate Thomas Edison’s birthday with us! The annual tradition continues with students from the Edison Park Creative and Expressive Arts School singing, dancing and playing stringed instruments. Cake will be served for visitors attending the party, which is sponsored in part by the Edison Pageant of Light, the organization founded in 1938 to memorialize Thomas Edison.
Birthday Itinerary:
- Starting at 10 a.m., CEO Mike Flanders, will give a brief welcome and thank the Edison Pageant of Light organizers for providing the cake. (Will take place at the Banyan picnic pavilion behind the Banyan tree).
- Cole Peacock, the Edison Ford Board Chair will also say a few words as will Sue Grimes, the Edison Pageant of Light Historian
- Students from the Edison Park Creative and Expressive Arts School will perform stringed instruments and then the “Boys in Black” will sing and dance. Students will also sing happy birthday to history character, Mr. Edison.
- Birthday cake will be served
- Music will be played on the antique Calliope (circus car).
The party is a free public event with limited seating (does not include tours or admission to the museum or laboratory).
Annual Antique Car Show
Each year, classic car owners exhibit more than 100 cars on the Ford estate lawn as a tribute to Henry Ford, the pioneer of the automobile industry. Along with the car show, there will be music, food trucks and visitors can tour the gardens, museum, laboratory and see the historic homes.
This family event is free for Edison Ford members and $25 for non-members, which includes a self-guided tour of the entire site. Admission tickets may be purchased online or at the ticket counter (advance ticketing not required).
For antique Ford owners wanting to participate, registrations are being accepted for Ford models 1980 and older. The deadline for registration is January 27 and the fee is $30 per car. Food trucks will be on site for lunch.

Holiday Market
The public is invited to come do their Christmas shopping at the Estates! Craft vendors and holiday merchants will have tents
under the trees adjacent to the historic Banyan tree.
Refreshments will be available for purchase. Admission to the holiday market is free (does not include admission to the Holiday Nights event).

Annual Wreath Auction
In partnership with the Fort Myes Woman’s Community Club.
Select from dozens of unique, handmade wreaths to benefit restoration and preservation efforts at the Estates. Come see the lights, listen to music, enjoy some appetizers and cash bar and bid on a wreath!
Cost: $20 per person
Registration is required by November 28; capacity is limited.

SOLD OUT – Wine and Cheese Pairing Event
Edison and Ford Winter Estates is partnering with The Wine Room and Grazing Haus to offer visitors the opportunity to sample wine and cheese at the historic site. The event will take place on Friday, November 18, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the river pavilion, along the Caloosahatchee River.
Guests are invited to sip wine, enjoy relaxing music and have a chance to see a beautiful sunset. Each participant will receive two red wine tastings and two white from different regions, paired with four cheese samples. Instructors from The Wine Room and Grazing Haus will discuss the pairings and will have additional wine and cheese available for purchase.
