The book includes a comprehensive look at the impact of the two friends, inventors and entrepreneurs in Florida. In the process of writing, the authors uncovered many new photographs and information about how the joining properties of Edison and Ford made the transition from private estates to a world-renowned historical, botanical and scientific site. The book's introduction traces the inventors from birth through important dates in their lives, such as Edison's arrival in Fort Myers in 1885.
