Edison Ford Open Today, Every Day 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Fort Myers, FL(October 1, 2013) The Edison & Ford Winter Estates, open year round, seven days a week, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The site honors the legacy of the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford families through science, history, arts, programs, and tours.

Every day of the week visitors have the option of an Historian Led Tour, Audio Tour in English German, Spanish or French or a Lab and Museum Tour. Throughout the week Edison Ford offers specialty tours which include:

• Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m., German Language Tour that includes a historian led tour of the homes, gardens, lab and museum in German.
• Thursdays, 10:30 a.m., Behind the Scenes Tour that takes you inside and up close in the Edison and Ford homes led by curatorial staff.
• Saturdays, 11 a.m., Edison Ford Mucker/Young Inventor’s Tour for children of all ages. Includes hands-on science activities based on the inventions of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.
• Sundays, 2 p.m., Inside the Edison Lab/Museum Hands-on Science, a behind the scenes program inside the lab and museum. The “insider” program includes invention demonstrations and other activities.

The Edison & Ford Winter Estates is designated as a 501c (3) non-profit corporation governed and managed by a Board of Trustees. Edison Ford is listed on the National Historic Register, Historic Florida Landmark and an original Save America’s Treasures of the National Trust for Historic Presentation.
