"Art in the Gardens" Exhibit Opens at Edison & Ford Winter Estates
FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 16, 2017) -- The childrens' outdoor sculpture "Art in the Gardens" exhibit opens March 19 and runs through April 23 at Edison & Ford Winter Estates. Students from 20 area schools created bird-themed sculptures using recycled materials for the 9th annual event. Sculptures will be on display in the Heritage Gardens near the museum.
An opening reception for children, parents and teachers will be held on March 19 from 2-4 p.m.

Students, teachers and Edison Ford staff develop a theme for the sculpture exhibit each year. "Birds" is a fitting theme, as both the Edisons and Fords were avid bird watchers and advocates.

Students from the following schools are participating in the event this year: Bayshore Elementary, Bonita Springs Middle, Cape Coral High, Diplomat Elementary, Dunbar High, Edison & Ford Winter Estates Home School, Edison Park Elementary, Fort Myers High, Ida S. Baker High, Lehigh Acres Middle, Lehigh Senior High, Manatee Elementary, Mariner High, North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts, Saint Francis Xavier Catholic, South Fort Myers High, The Alva School, Tortuga Preserve and Varsity Lakes Middle.

The event is free to the public (does not include tours, museum or lab). For more information, visit the website at EdisonFordWinterEstates.org or call 239-334-7419.
